Can I pack my own food or snacks?

Yes, absolutely – you are more than welcome to pack food for your child! We understand that some children have favorite foods from home or specific dietary needs, and we fully support parents providing the meals or snacks they’re most comfortable with. You can pack a lunch, send bottles of milk/formula for infants, or include any additional snacks your child likes. We’ll make sure your child gets to enjoy the foods you send along.

We do have one important request: please do not send any items containing nuts (peanuts, tree nuts, nut butters, etc.). Playto is a nut-free environment to protect children with severe nut allergies. Even trace amounts can pose a risk, so we ask all families to strictly avoid packing peanut butter sandwiches, granola bars with nuts, Nutella, almond milk, or any product that lists nuts in the ingredients. This policy helps keep all our little ones safe. If you’re ever unsure about a particular food, feel free to ask us.

Other than that, you have flexibility! We also encourage healthy, balanced options in keeping with our focus on nutrition, but we know every toddler can be a picky eater at times, so do what works best for your child. We are happy to follow any instructions you give (for example, if dessert is only after sandwiches are eaten, or if your child only gets one particular treat at a certain time). Just communicate your preferences and we’ll partner with you. And if your child has allergies or dietary restrictions, we will work closely with you to manage those, whether you’re bringing food or using our catering. Our ultimate goal is that each child has food they enjoy and parents have peace of mind.
